for the french toast
preferably enriched, like brioche or challah
adjust sweetness to taste / how sweet your bread is, and keep in mind the strawberry cream is sweetened
for the strawberry milk cream
sub ½ cup fresh strawberries
or equal parts whole milk + heavy cream

whisk together the ingredients for the custard, and allow your bread to soak for at least 10 minutes for the best absorption.
in the meantime, prepare the strawberry cream. if using freeze dried strawberries, blitz them into a fine powder in a blender or food processor and combine with the rest of the ingredients. if using fresh, mash with a fork and proceed with the same steps.
when your toast is done soaking, fry over medium heat in a generous amount of butter for 2-3 minutes on each side.
enjoy warm, drenched with cream.
